Etihad Airways has teamed up with DUBZ to transform the place where passengers live into a subsidiary of the airport. Travellers will be able to complete their check-in formalities in advance.. This includes not only luggagebut also the choice of seat and theissue of boarding pass from home. A Covid-19 PCR test can also be carried out by the LifeDx medical partner.
To benefit from this service, customers must register on the Etihad website up to seven hours before their flight. Check-in agents will arrive at the booked location at the chosen time, between 8am and 8pm. The agent checks the travel documents, then completes the check-in process and collects the baggage. Passengers can also choice of seat when registering and add extra luggage if necessary.
Customers who wish to board their flight early and receive their baggage first can add thepriority boarding and priority labelling luggage for an additional charge.
This service offers greater health safety for passengers. According to John Wright, Vice President, Airport Operations, Etihad network and freightThe home check-in service also limits human interaction at the airport. Customers can go straight to immigration and avoid the long queues at the airport. Prices for this service start at 220 dirhams, or 50 euros.
Home PCR tests are also available when booking the home registration package.. A LifeDx certified nurse will carry out the test and the results will be received by e-mail and SMS within 24 to 48 hours.
Possibility of having your health documents checked
From 12 May 2021, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates also launches the possibility of checking the validity of documents with the Covid-19 rules before departure for the airport. This service, called Verified to Fly is valid for flights departing from Abu Dhabi.
To use Verified to Flythe passenger must register online using the "Manage my Booking" function on the Etihad website. They will then receive further information on how to submit their documents. Once checked by the Verified to FlyThe passenger receives a confirmation e-mail. If any elements are missing, the customer must resubmit the documents. Le passengers can check their status at any time on the Etihad website.
Once the formalities have been completed, verified travellers can take advantage of a accelerated airport check-in by visiting the counter Verified to Fly dedicated. This service is available to all customers departing from Abu Dhabi (with the exception of China). The airline also offers it from Amman, Beirut, Dhaka and Manila. It plans to extend the service to other destinations in the near future.
