The 2026 summer season marked a real step change for Transavia, with the resumption of Air France routes and slots, particularly on the domestic network. The low-cost carrier’s fleet has thus grown to 98 aircraft, including 31 Airbus A320neo aircraft, while the offer from Orly now represents up to 170 daily flights.
According to Julien Mallard, Deputy General Manager of Commercial at Transavia France, « This evolution has also led us to rethink the product on the three historical routes of the shuttle service: Orly-Nice, Orly-Toulouse and Orly-Marseille. We have been working for two years with our partners, notably the airports, to define a customer journey adapted to this new Transavia product. This involves reassessing the registration formalities, priority boarding, the fast track and access to the lounge. While continuing the Transavia spirit, that is to say a travel product on demand, according to the customer’s needs." he says.
An important step was thus the opening in May of a lounge for business passengers, Stamped with Transavia, a first for a low-cost airline.
This transformation of Transavia’s product on domestic routes has had a positive effect.« We carried more than 750,000 passengers over four months on the old shuttles. This is well above our expectations. And we are responding to this by adding a 9th daily frequency on Orly-Toulouse in September.,» adds Julien Mallard. In terms of seats, the former shuttles now represent 10% of the total offer.
Traffic also behaved favorably in Nice and in Biarritz, Perpignan and Toulon during the summer.
European dynamism this summer
Transavia will continue to work on its domestic product. With the arrival of new Airbus A321neo aircraft in early 2027, the company will improve on-board comfort by integrating USB ports and luggage compartments with 40% more space than on its current fleet.
The company's international routes were also very dynamic.« That a summer for we the second stone strategic from this summer. We had un project that we a called our ‘Paradise City’, which aimed at transform these destinations at products from quality superior. This which we a taken away à operate to six flights by day on Rome, six on Lisbon, seven on Porto, four on Berlin and almost five on Madrid and Barcelona. So from mount at frequency and at quality from product for to let the choice at travellers from to build sound travel with the opening hours which the person concerned, à the once for the customer which wants go to from Paris at Europe, but also for the customer based by going à Paris«," Julien Mallard specifies.
For this winter, Transavia maintains a substantial offer on these major metropolises with more frequencies than last year. Barcelona, Madrid or elsewhere Rome from Orly, always with the same commitment to quality. The company will also offer flights to Crete, Pisa and Thessaloniki throughout the year.
CôThere are new things on the program In the winter, Transavia will continue to offer sun-drenched destinations further afield. Such as Cape Verde and Cairo from Nantes, Bordeaux-Cairo or Seville from Brest and Rennes.
Does Transavia’s expansion to Toulouse signal a possible base at the airport in the southwest?« Not at the moment. We are already serving Alger, Brest, Dakar and Oran. But we first want to consolidate our presence and grow the product on the Orly-Toulouse axis. Indeed, How to build around from this shuttle a dynamics positive for Transavia? And, Why? no, considering in the longer term more than growth,»This is still an analysis by Julien Mallard," continues Julien Mallard.
