Testimonial: Eric-Jean Floureusse, owner of Hameau des Baux

"Every season there are new clashes and a different atmosphere".

"With the "überisation" of the economy, a hotel needs to add extra value to sleeping well. When I took over this hotel built like a Provençal village in 2014, I kept this beautiful but rather archetypal envelope, while breaking it up with contemporary works and vintage furniture. The common thread is the gallery, which is truly integrated into the hotel. At a time when virtual sales platforms are appearing in the art world, this is a new way of looking at the future, based around a physical location. After all, everything is for sale, which means that every season there is a new display, and the atmosphere in the rooms changes. It really is an art of living. In the rooms, guests wake up and see the paintings. They can stroll through the garden surrounded by sculptures. The offer is there, but it doesn't impose itself. At the end of the year, we welcome graduates of the Ecole Nationale Supérieure de la Photographie d'Arles for a residency. The results of their work, which will be published in a book by Actes Sud, will be exhibited in the hotel the following spring. "
