Hotel Indigo has reached the milestone of 200 hotels worldwide

Hotel Indigo, one of IHG's lifestyle brands, has opened its 200th property, doubling its park since 2019, in addition to 134 ongoing projects.

And 200 establishments worldwide for Hotel Indigo. While IHG is strengthening its presence in the Lifestyle segment with, among other things, the recent takeover of Ruby Hotels, the British group can also rely on Hotel Indigo to offer travelers contemporary hotels with a distinctive design and local roots. The brand has indeed reached a milestone that demonstrates a new dynamic. Launched in 2004, when boutique hotels were fashionable, it took fifteen years to reach the 100 mark. But only seven years have passed to reach the upper 100 mark. And it will probably take less time to reach the 300 mark with 134 projects currently underway.

" Breaking the 200-hotel mark is a key moment for Hotel Indigo and it demonstrates the strength of the brand »," said Vicki Poulos, VP of Luxury & Lifestyle Brands at IHG Hotels & Resorts. Present in more than 30 countries, the brand has 55 hotels open in Europe, with a further 22 projects currently under construction. In France, it operates three establishments, the first in Paris in the Opera district, the second in Cagnes-sur-Mer and the last in Bordeaux in the Chartrons district, the result of the conversion of the former Mercure Bordeaux Cité Mondiale. In parallel, a fourth hotel with 156 rooms is currently under development, but IHG is not disclosing either the city or the opening date.

Hotel Indigo’s global expansion continues at a steady pace, with its beginnings in the last two years in Portugal with the Hotel Indigo Albufeira, in Peru in the Miraflores neighborhood of Lima, in addition to the Cayman Islands. And this includes the strengthening of its offering in the Americas – in La Paz in Bolivia, Tijuana and Raleigh –, in Asia with new establishments in Bangkok and Ningbo, but also in Europe, particularly in the United Kingdom, with the Hotel Indigo Gloucester – The Forum and the Hotel Indigo London K West Shepherd’s Bush in the United Kingdom.

To go further, the brand is planning new projects, notably its arrival next year in Riyadh and in Egypt in the distant future. Other hotels will also appear in the Greater China region, in Chongqing and Jingdezhen.
