Accor expands on the Australian market

On Friday, the Accor group announced the acquisition of Mirvac, which will enable it to expand its presence in the Australian and New Zealand markets.
The €195 million acquisition of hotel management company Mirvac is due to be approved in the first part of 2012. It will involve around fifty establishments representing 6,100 rooms, and will enable Accor to increase its total offering in Australia and New Zealand to 241 hotels. "With the accelerated growth of our offering, stronger brands, unique operational expertise and an ever-dynamic asset management policy, Accor is today in phase with its ambition to become the global benchmark in the hotel industry," said the hotel group's CEO, Denis Hennequin.
