The fate of the Pullman Rive Gauche has been known since the summer, but Accor made the details official on 19 January. The hotel group announced the sale of the property to Bouygues Immobilier for 77 million euros. The closure was prompted by the hotel's lack of profitability, but also by developments at the Pentagone project in the Balard district, and more directly by Accor's strategy of reducing its net debt by 2015. The hotel group's decision has also had repercussions on the other side of the Atlantic. Wall Street Journal announces the sale of Novotel New York: the hotel, located in the heart of the Big Apple, in Times Square, is to be sold for an equivalent sum (91 million dollars) in order to embark on a renovation programme, the cost of which is close to the sale price.
