Oetker Collection: a name often known only to hotel enthusiasts. Yet the establishments that make up this small German group are world-renowned, from the Bristol
in Paris, Château St-Martin & Spa in Vence, Hôtel du Cap-Eden Roc in Antibes and Brenners Park Hotel & Spa in Baden-Baden. Today, the group has no intention of stopping there, as demonstrated by the inauguration of the Palais Namaskar in Marrakech, a veritable palace of the Thousand and One Nights, the dream of its owner Philippe Soulier... For the first time in its history, the group will be solely responsible for management. "Even though our primary vocation is to own our hotels, we have decided to develop a small management business," stresses Frank Marrenbach, Managing Director of Oetker Collection. In 2013, the group plans to open a second Bristol, this time in Abu Dhabi, in partnership with the Emirate's ruling family. These are the first two steps in a development plan for the "very fast-growing markets" of Africa and the Middle East, where Oetker plans to open around fifteen hotels over the next decade. "We have no intention of going beyond this figure. We have no intention of becoming a chain," insists Frank Marrenbach. We are currently looking at projects in Istanbul, Doha and Oman. But Egypt and Lebanon are also in our sights".
Oetker Collection moves up a gear
The hotel group, discreet owner of the famous Bristol in Paris, is extending its range with the opening of the Palais Namaskar in Marrakech, ahead of the Bristol Abu Dhabi.
