We will have to wait until 2015 to see the future Traders Hotel open its doors in Hong Kong, on Hung Luen Road, in the Hung Hom Bay district: Shangri-La has just confirmed the acquisition of a building put up for auction by the government, which will enable the construction of a new hotel, as well as a multi-purpose complex, intended for both business and leisure customers. Hong Kong's orginal hotel group is thus carving out a prime location on its home turf, banking in particular on easy access and proximity to the future cruise terminal in Hong Kong Bay.
The new 15-storey Traders Hotel will offer 698 rooms with a minimum surface area of 32m², overlooking Victoria Harbour. Three restaurants are also planned, as well as a vast 1000m² fitness centre, an outdoor swimming pool and a 700m² function room.
