There are now twelve palaces in France, following the recent deliberations of the Palace Jury, which recognised three new establishments. The Hôtel La Réserve in Ramatuelle, the Château de la Messardière and the Hôtel Le Byblos, both in Saint-Tropez, join the club of French Palaces alongside the Hôtel Plaza Athénée, the Bristol and the Four Seasons George V. Created in November 2010, the Palace distinction now "distinguishes 5-star establishments whose exceptional geographical location, particular historical, aesthetic and/or heritage interest, and tailor-made service place them among the jewels of the French hotel industry".
