In Paris, London and Berlin, average room rates for January are down (-4%) compared to December 2011, according to figures published by Trivago in its monthly barometer (tHPI). It will cost an average of €105 this month for a standard double room in a major European city. While the fall in Paris remains limited (-1%), the drop is significant in London (-13% to 162 euros) and especially in Vienna (-16% to 110 euros). Only Madrid (+1%), Prague (+1%) and Geneva (+3%) are showing upward trends, with the Swiss capital remaining the least affordable city in Europe.
